Re: 427 Dart stroker

Thanks. Yours looks mean. 26 is about the maximum any more and power starts to drop of. What sort of rockers are you using. Mine are T&D shaft mounted and I want to find out about welding the bases together?

Re: 427 Dart stroker

yeah I tried 28 on a chassis dyno and dropped off, started with 24 but made the best at 26 degrees. I"m running crower sever duty stainless rockers, nex tek springs 850 open 280 seat. probe stud girdles, manely studs. havent shifted over 7000 yet . 3 passes on motor.

Re: 427 Dart stroker

One thing I didn't mention, is with the high spring pressures I am running Torrington needle roller cam bearings with the block machined and special camshaft bearing sizes, 55 mm, The whole idea of the motor is reliability with plenty of streetable power. It will be at least a couple of months before I have it all running.

Re: 427 Dart stroker

do you think they would fit on a 9.5 deck? also how much room do you have from the head to the shock tower?

Re: 427 Dart stroker

I have removed the shock towers. It's a 9.2 deck height. I think Yates heads are even higher exh ports than the CHI heads which are about 5/8 inch higher. I am building my one headers with 1 7/8 stepped to 2 inch with 3 1/2 venturi collecters.
