Re: 3.8 V6's

What would you suggest for this build? You seem to have more 3.8 experience them myself so giving what I have said here, what do you think "ou182"?

Re: 3.8 V6's

Well if your going to do the blower, then I would keep both ports open. Good porting will add around 60HP with a blower and about 10psi of boost.
Be careful on the cam, you don't want too much overlap so single pattern cam and wide lobe centers.
It'll run very well, probably surprise alot of people when you pop the hood after you beat them!

Re: 3.8 V6's

Thats the idea... however regarding the combination of heads, intake and sc... what do you figure the best combination might be?

The forged 4.2 block, port the 4.2 heads and the intake/ from the t bird or truck? I am sure the truck intake is bigger (reason to cut a hole in my hood) or the intake from the t Bird already ready for the SC?

Thanks

Re: 3.8 V6's

Like every other hot rodder out there Im looking for the best bang for my buck. Intended use is weekend/ evening toy on street and the occasional bymonthly trip to the strip. Show is below low on my list of things to do as im going to get larger black steel wheels for the car when the tires on these ugly three point stock rims burn off. I sill want to keep it an auto and retain working AC in the car.

Re: 3.8 V6's

You need to settle on a supercharger, and either pump or race gas, and how much power your looking for. Then do the heads and then pick the cam.
If it were a pump gas engine, I would keep compression around 8.5:1 and run no more than 7 psi unless you either mix race/pump gas or drive above 3500ft elevation.
Cam info would be something like 220's @ .050 with around 540-560 lift on a 112 lobe center.
Hope that helps...

Re: 3.8 V6's

The blower is a good start. Like I said with head work and the right cam, you should be very close to what you want. Start there and then work at it from that point. You need a starting point.

Re: 3.8 V6's

I found a pooched 4.2 at a wrecker, the same wrecker I found a long box step side for my dodge. Working on the dodge first then see what I cant do with the 4.2...

Thanks
