Re: what heads to use

Well it depends on what your doing with it. Give us some more info, like pumpgas, race gas, compression, power you want, etc....

Re: what heads to use

We sell trickflow heads, and I can tell you the cnc ported TW heads produce very good power.
I know the afr's do too, but I like Tooleys work and he's got a ton of championships under his belt. It's his cnc work that TF uses.
I would say you need an rpm range, and then pick the head that will work in that range. Start there...

Re: what heads to use

NO ONE beats AFR for the most bang for the buck ( dollar )I have made 649 HP with out of the box AFR 205 heads on a 347 engine. That is HARD to beat.

Re: what heads to use

Is that right out of the box, or with some work?

Re: what heads to use

I believe he just stated the AFR205's were right out of the box...must of been a big cam making that power. Would of loved to hear that thing rumble.

Re: what heads to use

We are a little off base here. The cam was a custom grind, like 268-276-700 lift, HP peak was at 7500 RPM, Funnelwen, 1050 carb.12.75 to one, 1 & 7/8 headers. The heads were untouched, except cut for bigger sprrings, Jesel shaft rockers.I reved it up to 8000 RPM, sounded goood.
