I'm not wanting to rev mine very hard either.
Ive ran the combo through a couple simulators. Power looks to max around 6500 so shift points should be around 7000
I dont put any faith in the actual HP out put from the simulators, I'm trying to build the combo to utilize the existing converter and gearing.

Poor boys ways to say the least!

Uuuhhhhh...careful punchin' a sb .060 over...a buddy now has one on
"display" in his back yard we occasionaly laugh at and pour beers
on at parties that he now calls "yard art"...

These blocks are getting difficult to find...just like the Austrailian heads...

Just curious...what will this care be used for MAINLY...your planned compression seems kinda high...combine that with a 100 HP squirt it no wonder ya gotta valve thats tryin' to go for a walk...

I don't know about the 289/302 blocks, but my 351W block has plenty of "meat" left in it after going .060 over.
