438 Sbf Stroker

Im looking at building a big inch small block using
4.1 stroke crank
4.125 bore (dart Block)
super victor manifold
custom solid roller cam
pro systems dominator carb.

But my main question is i already have a set of AFR205 heads
that have been set up for a solid roller with manley vavle train goodies
will these heads be enough for this size of stroker or will they just choke it up.
Car will be used mainly on the strip but buzz down to the local burger bar and the odd club cruise nights

Those heads are going to be pretty small for that engine..I would think you would want something in the 225+ runner size area.

Re: 438 Sbf Stroker

There is VERY little differance between the two size heads. I have made 667 HP from a 408 engine on pumpgas, with the 205 heads. I know that wont be your problem At the most you MIGHT see 10 to 20 HP differance, probably less.

Re: 438 Sbf Stroker

Hi Joe

So the 205 heads would be more suited to the smaller strokers around the 393 to 418 cui. I have a 3.850 stroke crank availble to use so would a 411 cui be my best shot to use with the 4.125 bore block im sort of chasing around the 650hp range. Also what would be a safe comprission ratio to use with 98 pump gas thanks
