There are a lot of motors out there today with aliminumn heads on cast iron blocks in regular production cars as well as aftermarket builds, without incident. Use good head bolts and good gaskets and they should seal as well as any cast iron head. The problem with the Vega's was they weren't made by Ford! lol.

Re: AFR 205 head problems

* I ordered a set of Ford racing M-9439-A302 intake gaskets for $9.88 from Summit which I think are actually Felpro 1250's or 1262's that sell from Summit for $22.95. I will let everyone know which one they are when I recieve them.[/quote]

The M-9439-A302's are Felpro 1262's the only difference is they don't include the cork end seals or rubber o ring for the distributor.

Wasn't that an aluminum block with iron head combo. If I remember the bolts would pull. May be incorrect on this.
