Cam for 347, six pack?

My engine builder has given me a list of parts to obtain for my first stroker project. It is a 347 topped by an original Ford 3x2 induction system going into my '67 Fastback. My goal is low end torque, not all out horsepower. I picked up the forged Eagle crank and H-beam rods, -12 cc dished SRP pistons already. He wants me to run Edelbrock RPM heads with 190 Intake. All this sounds good to me towards my overall goal. Now for the cam, he wants a Ford E303. This seems alittle small to me, being an emissions cam for a 302. He says he has built 7 or 8 like this and has gotten 400 Hp consistently on the Dyno. Anyone have any inputs.

Thanks, Bill

Sounds very similar, when did max torque occur. How is it for drivability/fun factor?

Re: Cam for 347, six pack?

I have a b303 in my 302. It makes great torque. from about 2000 on up, but it falls flat at about 5700 rpm. In a 347 it will fall flat at about 5300 I believe. If you are looking for torque an e303 will fit the bill. Keep in mind they are old designs and you can squeeze more power out of a simular rev range with a modern cam design.
