deburring 302 block

Hey guys I am building a 331 stroker and I am starting with a 68 302 block and before I drop her off at the machine shop I was planning on debburring the block. What areas should I pay attention to? I am already planning on polishing the lifter valley and removing the rib that is on each side of the main caps. What else are some things I can do. i am trying to make this block as strong as possible. And I already know that some of you are going to tell me I am wasting my time, but I am doing it anyways : ) thanks for the help!

Re: deburring 302 block

You can polish and relieve around all the oil drain back holes.

Where there is any casting flashing, grind it off.

Any sharp edges can be relieved.

Chamfer the headbolt holes.

When you get the block back from machinest, run a tap through ALL the bolt holes. Keeps you from having a "surprise" later while assembling.

Re: deburring 302 block

Other then chamfering the bolt holes that is what I have done so far. Thanks for the advice. There really is not alot to be ground off an old casting sbf. They are nice cast blocks.
