step up my 393

I have a 393 ci 11.3 to 1 compression, edelbrock vic junior heads and intake , custom solid flat tappet cam and a biggs hp 880 cfm carb

i want to step up, i was thinking world block, around 450 or so ci, with the same top end for now, ( other than the cam )

or cnc porting on top end heads, intake and do a solid roller cam , i dont know what the porting would cost or who to have do it does has anyone tried this? and what kind of gains can i expect?

Re: step up my 393

I can tell you that the a 450ci will be a performance dog with Vic Jr heads and intake. The proper heads to make such a monster work well will be $3500 or more.

What are your goals? Are you building a street or strip car?

Your second option has lots of potential. The Vic Jr heads can be ported to work very well, or a different head could be swapped on that might work better. I would figure $800-1000 for a good port (not hack) job from a knowledgeable porter.
