Re: Homemade Sub-frame Connectors

For my '68 Falcon, Off of ebay, I got my subframe connectors from Tommy Zees out of Texas. With shipping they cost me $150.00 for the pair.

This was in Sep of 2006.

I had the muffler shop weld them on. It didn't take him too long to figure his "plan of attack"!

I run a "warmed over" 351W and I can feel the extra "support" that these connectors have contributed to the "handling" of this car.

Re: Homemade Sub-frame Connectors

Great article! I bought some connectors from California Mustang that were advertised as fitting 64-73, but they will clearly not fit my 73 without major modification. This will really help with that thanks!

Re: Homemade Sub-frame Connectors

Hey this is a GREAT post Dazecars! I was looking at some in the Summit catalog and they were the bolt-on type. They want $130 and like you mentioned earlier, they do not fit close to the floor pan like yours. I'm good at fabricating and I teach welding at work so this will not take much longer to build and install than a purchased unit. Thanks for sharing, I was going to do this myself but you just saved a ton of measuring.

I noticed you live in Kalispel MT. I have worked with a great guy who lives in Kalispell. I won't post his name here but he lives next door to an actor (I don't want to publicly give his name out out of respect for their privacy). PM me if you may know who I'm talking about. It may be a smaller world than we think.
