Read it this way if you will.

Valve cover with PCV valve conected to vacuum port.

Hose going from opposite valve cover to the air filter housing.

Sure it's a closed system, but... The inlet hose to the VC goes to the filter housing but it draw's air from OUTSIDE the Filter, through a small piece of Poly-Cotton Batting...

That poly-cotton batting is nowhere near as efficient at filtering the air as that cute little Washable K&N filter that Jon uses...

So I think the Closed PCV System is a little out done here...

What do you think of my pint of view?

I made a mistake. But the system shown is an OPEN PCV SYSTEM, i.e. the source of fresh air is exposed to the atmosphere allowing fumes to also enter the atmosphere. A CLOSED SYSTEM draws fresh air from within the air cleaner housing and any fumes are contained in the air cleaner asm and hopefully burned.

I confused (not too hard for me) the mesh installed under the valve as the fresh air inlet filter. Obviously that is on the opposite rocker cover. The mesh filter will over time fill with an oil mist causing a vacuum drop, so it must be serviced on a regular basis as does the inlet filter and valve.

Yeah, I got my lips over my eye teeth first time and couldn't see what I was saying...

There is nothing wrong with the way he is going about it but it will require more attention.

Re: A Proper PCV

Joe,
Well, it looks like Comp Cams discontinued their polymer valve covers. Those "breather stands" appeared to be part of that line. Sorry. You may need to call the Comp sales line for help.
