That \'Bird has a 302 with a dazzling 145 horse, Tom. Yep, it\'s a real sled but is a sweet driving \'79 with only 88K original miles. In \'78 and \'79, the only engine option was a 351, either a W or M depending on what Ford had in stock that day. In \'77, you could get a 400 but Ford never installed 385 series motors in any T-Bird after \'76. The other \'79 I have has a 302 with a mild cam, Weiand intake and a 600 Holley VS with duals. It\'s no rocket, but if I ever get off my butt and install the 3:50 gear that I have lying around the garage, it\'ll surprise a few folks..[img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]
These cars have a decent restoration following but not that many folks seem to be interested in rodding them. Strange, since they\'re built on the Torino platform and are better looking, IMO.
As to a Baby \'Bird, I\'ll keep my eyes and ears open. I\'ve heard about a couple of \'barn finds\' around here over the past couple of years for relatively low $$$.
