1980 -1982 Thunderbirds

These cars were (IMO) beautiful when they were introduced. I in fact bought a new 81 GRANADA (2DR COUPE) for the wife.

These were based on the FAIRMONT (FOX) platform. BIRD, COUGAR and GRANADA and the later mid-size LTD. You could upgrade them with FOX parts very easily. Performance and luxury.

I have a 1982 Ford Thunderbird. I am looking to talk to people with this car. Anybody have one? I love this boxy bird.

Had an 80 Cougar with a 351C for several years, what a sleeper.

Re: 1980 -1982 Thunderbirds

I went looking for one to build into a racer, but could not find any. So I had to settle on an 1988 t-bird that I picked up for $200.

Re: 1980 -1982 Thunderbirds

Bought a new XR7 in 1981 had a 302 O/D great car, great MPG. Got laid off from the factory I was working. Sold it with 5K miles on it, still miss it. Was the last new car I ever bought.

I still like the XR7's...very cool looking "boxy-fox bodies". Always cool to see them in the bone yard.

Hey Fordwiser...I recall seeing photos of your drag car a few years back. Good to see you checking in.
