thanks Roger I have a QA1 tubular K member.Tubular A arms and coil overs are on my wish list.Do you know T-bird weight with a 460 and how much HP it would take to run mid 10s.The crossmember is not as wide as 1985 mustangs and my mustang frame conectors did not fit. Will my 1988 mustang 8.8 and aluminum driveshaft bolt right in?

Re: 1980 -1982 Thunderbirds

Not sure on the weight, depends how much you gut it out. Mine weighs 3100 with a aluminum headed 351C, still has all the glass, windows roll up and down and has wipers yet, no bumpers other then the plastic covers. I figure mine is in the 550 to 575 hp range.
From what I hear the crossmember should bolt right in, the T-Bird lower control arms are suposed to be around an inch longer, from what I remember the rearend is a little wider also, but the mustang one will bolt right in and give a little more room for tires. The wheelbase is longer, that's why the subframe connectors didn't fit and the driveshaft will be short
