1966 thunderbird custom hotrod - c6 convert to a t45 5 speed

Have a customized 1966 thunderbird with a 390 fe . engine has 10-1 compression , pocket ported heads with double valve springs using a holman moody 390gt- 428 scj cam. Adjustable valve rockers with early style valve covers. Induction 1962 thunderbird tripower system (comes up through the hood). Custom scj headers (16 bolt pattern)from FPA exhaust going to 4" sidepipes. C6 transmission and 3.50:1 traction lock 9" rear.
I was going to rebuild the c6 trans, but that year used a basterd valve body. Using the cruise-amatic shift pattern. After some thinking, I decided to go all the way and convert this car to a manual shift. Who has one!!!! Nobody!!!!!!!
This is my project ! - Mate a 2000 mustang gt cobra t45 5 speed to a 1966 390 fe engine. doing some research, I have found out that a 4.9 L 300 six uses a neutral balance flywheel and will bolt up to the 390 crank with an adapter. The bell housing on the t45 will need alittle shaving to clear the flywheel, about a 1/4 inch bigger in diameter than the 4.6 L flywheel. Waiting on the 4.9 L flywheel to get here. I will start car disassembly soon.

Anybody attempting this type of trans swap! This company makes adapter for fe to earlyAOD and manual trans for 302's and 351w bellhousings http://www.transmissionadapters.com/ford_fe.htm

They don't have anything for the 4.6L belhousing style.

Fabricating will be a challenge, but I expect that. Any help ?
If it was that easy everbody would be doing it. Think outside of the box!

the 300 flywheel wont bolt to the 390 crank. The 300 flywheel shares a bolt pattern with the small block and the 335 series. The bolt circle is too small.

429/460 flywheels will interchange, provided its an early (internal) 460.

transmissionadapters.com must make an adapter for the flywheel. They are the source of this information. Will call them tomorrow. 429 and 460 I don't think are small enough to fit in bellhousing, also I think they are externally balanced like the 428 fe. The 390 is balanced internally. Any other hints! 429 is neutral balanced, early 460s, untill I believe 78 were also neutral balanced. Im using a 390 flywheel on my 460 for my 4 speed conversion in my 71 Mustang.
