RWD T-Bird or Cougar motor swap

I am considering purchasing an early to mid 90's RWD T-Bird or Cougar, in hopes to later mount a 460 motor and appropriate transmission. Certainly, this will require modification. Does anyone know if there are mounting/conversion kits available for purchase that would allow for mounting such a motor/trans in a vehicle such as this?

You can do just about any thing you want to them. Here is my 93 Bird.

RWD T-Bird or Cougar motor swap

There are at least a few people who have swapped 385-series big blocks into MN12 T-Birds. But I'm not aware of any off-the-shelf kits for doing the swap.

Send me a p.m., if you would like the email address of a guy in Milwaukee who has done a few of these swaps.

cheers

RWD T-Bird or Cougar motor swap

I am currently working towards a 460 swap along with an LS1 T56.
The hardest part I've found so far is the electronics! Someone said you have to remove/modify the A/C box for it to fit. Use a (creative)combination of Bird mount (bottom) and BBF top for motor mounts.
I was going to use a single plane 4 bbl intake drill and install injector bungs and make some custom rails from blanks. A 90* adaptor on the intake to use stock type TB (to keep hood clearence). A McLeod adapter for the t56 and make the trans xmember myself. The LS1 t56 uses a similar slave for TO brg, but has a 28 spline IP shaft. Using the LS1 puts the shifter near original position. Slix stick shifters (McLeod) are availible with up to a 4" offset. Mike
