wipers, gas tank strap problems .NEED HELP ASAP!!!!

hey dudes Im making a road trip to ottawa this friday and i seriously need your help. . .

1. One of the gas tank straps broke off and i cant find new ones anywhere, are bungee chords alright to use temporarily?

2. Ever since i replaced that ignition switch, the wipers havent worked, how do i fix this???
