No Start! Help!!

On my 64, I tried starting it after about a year of sitting in my garage. I thought the coil went bad so I took the coil off my 75 Dodge van. I poured gas in the carb and went for a start. After trying and trying I stuck a screwdriver in the coil wire and arced it against some bare metal and found out I out was getting no spark. What else would cause a no spark condition? I checked the ground wire and it seemed tight. I was think maybe ignition module? Any suggestions?

Thanks
Greg

I forgot this was a points car. Your the 2nd one that has mentioned points. I was also told they can go bad when a car just sits. I assume I was getting power to the coil as it was getting warm while I was cranking on the car.
