M5R2 Tranny/Clutch *92 SC*

Purchased as of last October and tossed in the back yard after a week of driving it for winter, I've took it out for a ride around the block about once a month since then, And been forced to drive it these last couple weeks due to smashing up my winter beater "92 Bird [LX]" Ive discovered that she is struggling to shift into reverse just grinding like hell. Tried double clutching it, Tried pumping it 10+ times before trying to shift into R. It grinded twice earlier this week in 5th and hasn't done it since, The previous owner has said that the "Rubber Grommets" were replaced and requires a whole new clutch also with it... He said that it just didn't want to shift at all when it wouldn't go, never said it grinded just wouldn't shift at all. The car has a clutch that is stiffer then a ________, basically a damn truck clutch almost, could a retarded mechanic has installed a clutch that works with this car but is not recommended for it?

Another question was that my buddies claim that the gears should be "Re-syncronized", but on the same token my teacher at my technical college claims that the Master cylinder for the clutch or the Clutch Slave cylinder is bad which is allowing improper flow of the fluid... I had my buddy hop in the car to see what it was doing, Never grinded for him cept once when he never pulled down quite enough, His instructions were basically double clutch it but wiggle the shifter a bit and go hug the right wall of the stick hard and drop it in easily. It apperently works for me now to do it like that, So does it simply need to be re-synced and how much does that run from a shop roughly? And one more last ? is since it has been giving me trouble the running rpm's have been holding at 1250 instead of the regular 750..... Could this be another clue as to what is up? Any help is greatly appreciated as to I need this fixed asap It's my only vehicle to use atm....

M5R2 Tranny/Clutch *92 SC*

92rustfreeSc,
I have a '93 SC with the M5R2 5 spd. Shifts like a truck? it's a truck tranny!!! The clutch is normaly stiff. These trannys have a history of blockers and syncros going out. If you let out on the clutch in neutral when the car is dead stop, usually will shift back in a) with no prob b) shift to another gear first or c) open door push car back slightly to align output gear. After I drained the fluid, flushed the case and removed a piece of metal (later I.D.'d as a syncro spring) I haven't had this problem lately.
However, I'm getting the $$ to put a t56 in it.

Mcleod kit to put a T56 behind a 3.8 MCL-8750-06.
MCL-8740-06 to go behind a 460. Both use the same bellhousing but different motor plates, pilot bushings and the 460 uses a spacer plate.
