'68 429. complete or part it out

I came across a '68 T-Bird in a yard that is complete and stock. Suicide back doors, 429 thunder-jet, Iron 4bbl intake even has the autolite 4300 carb. Not running/needs restoration.
I was considering the value of the entire vehicle vs parting out the car and building a 521 stroker from the block. Doesn't seem to be a big collector market for these style Thunderbirds so I thought I would ask here. What is your point of view on these cars?
Thanks
Russ.

I found a 68 tbird ,two door, 429 thunderjet that runs for $1600 going to look at it tonite. Whats the diff between thunder jet & cobra jet the heads? I don't know if I can pass it up at that price, but the wife said I could park it next to the Galaxie and have a two room bachlor pad.

Re: '68 429. complete or part it out

To be honest I don't know. I've never built a 429 or 460 just small blocks and a few FE's. Thunderjet vs Cobrajet might have just been ford marketing. But the thought of a BBF stroker in a 64 falcon hmmmm.
Could PM dfree383 he could probably fill in the blanks for you.
If you do but it, the trunk is big enough for a double mattress. good luck...

Re: '68 429. complete or part it out

i'd think about seeing if anyone in the uk clubs might want it or parts. i live over here and own a 68 2 door, might want a couple if bits , also i used to have a 69 till someone drove into me earlier in the year - whomever owns it now will be looking for loads of parts. over here a 429 in working order is worth a fair bit - and a c6 tranny will be like gold dust. seats are worth a fair bit - buckets or bench??? not black vinyl at all??? electric windows???? get a bunch of photos showing things like hubcaps, interior - dash, seats, bumpers etc i might want a fair bit thinking of it.

Re: '68 429. complete or part it out

rear window
exhaust manifolds
front bumper - depends on condition
glove box door - as long as it opens correctly
window rubbers / wetherstrips for between front side glass and rear side glass - both sides
rear seatbelts - whole lot
dash guage surround - the wood effect piece with glass guage covers

the above is what i can currently say i need / want - get back to me with a price if you decide to part it out.
is there any aftermarket stuff on it or optional stuff on it. ???

photos!!!!!??????????
