66 T-bird Suspension

I have a 66 T-bird that I want to restomod. My question today is in regard to the front suspension. I've done some homework and compared the T-bird design to Mustangs of the same era. I can assume spring rates and alignment specs are different, but the design makeup is very similar. I have contacted Chris Alston's Chassisworks to inquire about their Tubular setup, but they say the parts will not work under my bird. I've looked at the Fatman Mustang II setup, but have been told removing the shock towers would ruin the integrity of the front end.

Has anyone modified their bird or know of an anvenue to pursue?
