73 Gran Torino Sport ????\'s

Hi All;
Just saved a GT Sport F/B from the krusher, just couldn't let it go that way. Much too nice a vehicle to not bring it home. Besides, have been toying with the 50's stuff too long and now we want a cruiser with some more creature comforts.
Now I need some info from one of the best sites on the web. Can you experts tell me what interior parts interchange between what vehicles and what years? Need bucket seats, door panels, kick panels, dash cap, headliner, rear seat side panels just for starters. Our recycle yards around here don't seem to have much in the 73 GT lines.
Have found a 79 Ranchero that appears to have new brakes and shocks, will these interchange??
Is there a sitethat tells what interchanges or is there manuals available for this? Have lots of info on the 50's and 60's interchangeability but not much on the 70's.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Great Site!!!!
Thanks pops

Mechanically, a lot of cars will interchange with this car. '72 to '76 Torino/Montego later the Elite and Mercury Cougar and even '77 to '79 T-bird and Cougars and LTD II's.
Some trim parts will swap over from model to model also interiors changed a bit throughout the models and years but the dash stayed the same with the clusters changing somewhat.
Good Luck on your project and nice score BTW

If you find good interchangability info, please share. I look for the cars CaptVirgil mentioned and see if it looks like it will fit. '72 to '76 T-birds and Mark IV's have some mechanical interchangability, too, but less trim and chassis stuff than the others he mentioned.

72 all but the front clip will fit. The front clip from a 72 will hang on later models (your 73, on up to 76), but all (most all) pieces must be swapped. I have a blue 73 that I'm parting out and I have door panels (GT) and some other misc parts, fenders, hood, etc if you're interested. alltire@mninter.net

There are a multitude of parts that will interchange between the 1972-1979 midsize Ford Motor Company cars:
Torino, Montego, LTD II, Elite, Ranchero, and Cougar (from 1974). All mechanical components will interchange. Torino, Ranchero, and Montego interiors were almost identical from 1972 thru 1976. Elite and Cougar XR7 interiors are identical from 1974 thru 1976. Although there were some changes to the the 1977 - 1979 midsize interiors, they will bolt into 1972 to 1976 cars without any modifications. Any interior pieces from any 1972 to 1979 midsize Ford Motor Company midsize will fit all other 1972 to 1979 Ford Motor Company midsize models. Hopefully this information will help. BTW - Ebay is an excellent source of interior parts. Hope you found this information helpful.

Carefull-2 door door panels from 77-79 will not fit earlier cars because the door on 77 & later sweeps downwards, not upwards. Most other stuff interchanges
