Tires for a 71 GT

My car is all original, the 215R70 14s are really small looking for the wheel wells. What would be a good size wheel and tire for a "street" look? anybody?

With 14" wheels, I used 245/60/14 in the rear, 225/70/14 in the front.

Now I am going 15" 325/55/15 in the rear, undecided on the front.

Good luck,

Greg

Im not sure what the backspacing is on the old slot mags on my Torino, but 255/60 15's are as big as I can go in back, and Im runnin 235/60s in front on the same rims. Looks nasty, and that size rubber isnt all tha expensive either.

I have 275 60 15 on the back of my 71 gt and 225 60 15 on the front and the back fits perfect. Fills up the wheel wells. If you give me your email I can send pics.

I run some wheels with a horrible offset that makes em stick out way too far. Best I can manage is a 235/60/15

I run 295-50 15's on the back of my 69 on a 15x8 with 4 1/2" back spacing. Its tight, but works.

Hey gtnrb71, didn't you put a tko and mustangII front suspension on your torino? If thats you, I'd love some pics.
I'm thinking of doing both on my car. Know anyone in the bay area that does that kind of work? (the mII part)
thanks
