Is a Merc Montego the same as a Monterey?

Just bought a 67 Merc Monterey ragtop... I know very little about fords & mercs (been a chevy guy up till now)...

Is the Montego the same as a Monterey?

Never say Never.

Montego was used in '67 on the Canada only Meteor line but these are rare even in Canada.

The Montego became a proper mid size model in 1968 and used a unibody type chassis. Stu
