71 Torino Brake Proportioning Valve

Merry Christmas everyone! I was wondering if there is a difference between the proportioning valves used in manual drums and power disc brakes. I recently made the switch to power disc, and I notice the brakes give no feedback and are very touchy. When purchasing the power brake set, I recieved a new proportioning valve as well, but was sure whether or not there was a difference between my old and new one. Thanks for your time, and again, Merry Christmas!
