WHEEL SIZES???

I was wondering if this '74 torino i have would be able to take 17 inch rims without having to cut or change anything and still maintain the same turning radius i have now with 14 inch rims

Yeah you should be able to . I'm running 17 X 7's (front ) and 18 X 8's (rear ) on my wagon . It turns just the same as it did stock . And it's been lowered 2 inches .

hey your shaggin wagon looks sharp!! What tire sizes would you recommend with the front being 17/7 and backs being 17/8's?....hey does bigger rims make it seem like it has less power or about the same as stock size rims?

WHEEL SIZES???

Hey thanx ! Took me quite a bit of research to finally decide on the wheel and tire sizes that would work the best . I run 15 inch wheels on all my other cars , so I used the overall diameters of the 15's then looked around for 17 & 18 inch tires that would get me close . Then you just gotta pick the look that you like . I wanted tires that actually had some sidewall to them , so I ended up an inch taller in the rear and 1/2 inch taller in the front . The front tires are 225 / 55 / 17 Toyo Proxes . That should give something to start with . Toyo's website lists all the specs for their tires , so you can figure out overall diameter and width for what you want .
I changed out the rear gear in anticipation of the taller tires . I went from a 3.00 to a 3.33 . The car is a driver so I needed to be able to cruise on the highway without the motor screaming at high rpm's . I think the stock 14's were somewhere around 26 inches tall , and I'm now at 29 inches tall in the rear . The speedo ended up only being off by about 3 mph .
Anywho , I hope some of this made sense .

Yeah , it originally came with 14's ---- steel wheels with full wheel covers ---- yeck !
The suspension is all stock except for lowered springs and sway bars from www.p-s-t.com .

Thanx ! I figured if it's gonna be slow , it may as well look half way decent . The wheels are Budnik Famosa & Famosa Dished (rear) . Got 'em directly from Budnik . Expensive ? Yeah for me they were !
