TONS of questions on my new 1976 Torino

Did you cheak to see if water leaks from the cowl air ducts as this is the one of the bigest cause of rusted floors in torinos.

I know it was stock w/ the car off the floor, I will go outside tomorrow and take a look at it and see what it is, but I'm pretty sure its just a 2bbl motorcraft.

cool. the motorcraft 2100 is a really easy carb to rebuild. roll down to the local zone and pic up a kit (part # 96-551 $12.99) and dig in.
here is a link to rebuilding a 2150 motorcraft which is nearly identical to the 2100. http://home.earthlink.net/~bubbaf250...rb/carb01.html

good luck with it. if you rebuild it and got questions post em and i'll answer the best i can.

TONS of questions on my new 1976 Torino

Found a book about the history of my car from the previous owner, he owned the car from 2001 to 2006, bought it from an eBay auction and was an original Arizona car. Also found out something else I had no clue about...this is not a Winsor! It is a 351M. I've heard good possible things about this engine and alot of bad, but I'm also told its a great running engine for up to 400k miles without a rebuild. When the person bought the car in 2001 he had an oil change and the documentation read 59k miles on the car...so it was rolled back or ran a lot between 2001 and 2006, regardless shes running strong now that I got my vacume replaced that hooks up to the tranny...(forget its proper name). Looking to get the carb rebuilt this weekend, and having an actual Ford technician do it for me...going to rip the carb off, rebuild and tune it for me for 100$$ even and the rebuild kit. I'm not comfortable doing it the first round myself but hopefully I'll learn a thing or two from the guy for the next time it will need it.

351M engine is the same as a 400, but with a different stoke. My Gran Torino had a 351M, after it was rebuilt, new crank and pistons, voila it was a 400, and with some minor performance mods it became an excellent toque motor. Dynoed at 449 ft/lps @ 3200rpm.

aye that is what I have been told I can do to it... how much did it cost you to turn it into a 400?
