429-460 headers for 71 torino

ok guys my 71 torino project is gettin close to done ive jus got a few more things to take care of. i still havent got my headers yet. ive been looking at hooker and places like that and they make a set for fox body mustang with 2 inch tubes and a 3 1/2 collecter. the actual torino headers or only like 1 7/8 tubes. if im wantin a little more flow will the fox body headers fit in my torino?

No they wont. The 1 7/8" tubes will flow plenty.....enough to make 700 horsepower!! Plus they are designed to fit the Torino.

429-460 headers for 71 torino

1-7/8" is too small for 700 HP.

The hooker 6201 header is 2-1/8" with a 3-1/2" collector. IT will fit the 70-71 Torino as long as you have manual steering.

If you've got them hanging on the wall, try them, it's free research since you've already got them.

What's the worst that could happen... them not fitting and you needing to hang them back on the wall for another day?

I'm not sure what the part number is, unavailable due to work location (Iraq) until Aug. But if you're still interested in them in 3 months I will sell them. If the right number for you.

I also have a D&D tubar crossmember for 78-92 Fox body, BBK caster/camber plates new, and coil over spring set, #175 new. I was going to build another Zephyr but working on the wifes Stang now. FWIW I used Hedman coated long tubes on my '69 with power steering and a Tremec 5 speed. Hydralic clutch 'tho so now mechanical linkage to mess with. It did take a little banging and tweaking but not too much. Good luck, GL Gordon, South Texas
