Shoulder harness option for \'70 Torinos or Fairlanes?

Anyone make a shoulder harness system for the '70 Fairlane or Torinos?

I need something for safety and my last resort is to put in a bar and some restrictive four point harnesses.

Ideas?

After my Camaro got creamed in an accident I just don't want to end up eating the steering wheel in my Fairlane.

Must be something out there.

yeah but they are not adjustable so if your a larger guy or a short person and gotta run the seat foward they dont work.

My '70 only has a bench seat and lap belts. No sign that it had a shoulder harness (new headliner to hide the mount?)

Anyone have pics of the factory harness? Any aftermarket companies (like Dearborn Classics) carry the assemblies?

its not a 3 point like new cars you hook up the lap belt and then attach the shoulder strap on the right side of your hip at least its like that in my 72 ill go look at the 70 in a few but i am sure its the same setup

Steven,

First thanks for putting my car in your mag!

Second, yes there is a shoulder belt attach point in the roof, likely hidden as you said by a new headliner.

The belt is in fact adjustable, and it clips into the lap belt latch.

I removed my OEM seat belts after installing my roll bar and 5 point harness, but here is a pic of the hole in the headliner where the shoulder harness attaches.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Greg. Does anyone sell replacement belts? I really don't want to buy a set from a junk yard.

Why not put modern style 3 point belts in it? I used these on my 69 and work great.

Steven, I know that dearborn classics and autokrafters carry the seat belts, but I am certain they are made by someone else.

I have a set of belts which I could send to you and you could have the belts re-webbed...that way you'd have the proper latches and attachment points, and the attaching hardware.

Let me know if that sounds good to you and I'll start grabbing the belts out of one of my parts cars.

Greg
