http://www.tmeyerinc.com/400Ford.htm , he plenty of support/parts and information for the 400. I have a 400 in my 76 Gran Torino, it was a bit weak until it was rebuilt with a mild cam, flat top pistons etc. Dynoed at 355 HP and 449ft-lb. Mine is an excellent motor for daily driving, but can’t breath in the higher rpm, basically the hp flats lines from 4000 rpm to 5000 rpm, but it does really pull strong right from the idle. If you are doing any work on it, its definitely worth going with quench heads, I stayed with the original heads, and with 9.7:1 compression, I have to run with 94 Octane. ================================================== == Reliability of the 400 is a matter of option, it’s an excellent motor for the right application. It all depends on what you want to do. Most people have a strong option usually based on their experiences, ether they love the motor or they love to bash it. I can’t comment on what motor is better for what purpose, or on what budget, I am about as non-technical as you get, all my knowledge has come from reading forums. I know for my Torino the 400 has been an great motor for daily driving, well behaved and reliable, tons of low end torque for burnouts etc – but mine is defiantly not a motor that likes to rev. which I assume is due to the choice cam and using stock heads. In my humble option, unless you will be happy for quite awhile with the 400, I would wait until you can go for the 460, projects always cost more than you budget. There are plenty of articles on the web to read, here are a few more. No idea if they are accurate or not. More info: Rumors and Myths on the 351M/400
