Getting suspension parts need some input

At the end of the week I'll be ordering a full set of KYB gas-a-just shocks as well as getting a set of springs from a 72 T Bird that was a factory 429 car. With just these upgrades to my 72 Gran Torino what can I expect in the way of handeling and overall ride? My car is an F code and still has a 302 in it although the origional motor is long gone. The front sway bar is a 7/8" although I do have a 1" sway bar on my parts car.
