I think they are in dearborn but since the torino is pretty much flat, why wouldnt you just do it piece by piece with flat sheet metal?

Re: 1972 Ford Gran Torino

From the top body line down on a 1972 Torino, they are the same panel.
The aftermarket panels are made to fit either car.
I would suggest contacting these guys:
Table of Contents
The pricing in the site is out of date, last time I called last summer, showed $190 per side.

They have the Torino panels, and are stamped here in the USA.
Good, heavy guage panel.
There are also some cheapie panels on ebay, for like $100, I think they are imported panels.
I picked up a pair of quarters a few years back on a trip out to Ohio, one wasa tabco, other was an imported, and the differance was night and day.
Imported panel was thin and you could sit and twist and flex the panel. The tabco panel is some thick metal, and the shape is pretty good.

As far as the torino 1/4 panel shape, I will attest they are NOT flat. I am frankly sick to hell of blocking my 1/4's out...about the only area they are remotely flat is on the very bottom behind the tire, but even then they are curved.

Re: 1972 Ford Gran Torino

I bought a quarter skin on Ebay for my '73 ( $99.00), and it looks good. It is a foreign made piece but it looks like it will fit nicely. I need the wheel opening lip and the lower quarter piece, so I am going to cut off the pieces I need to fix my quarter panel. By the way, I called Tabco, and the weren't going to have any for several months.

Re: 1972 Ford Gran Torino

Hmm, that's funny that you mention the back order... I think they said to me last year they were waiting to have enough demand to make another run of them.
-shrug-
I suppose the imported panel is better than NO panel at all!
As far as the wheel house-I used a lip off a 71-73 Mustang, but had to do alot of work to make it fit decent.

Im new to the site, been reading it for a while but never joined

they do make them, you can get them from dearborneclassics. as far as foreign panels are concerned i recieved with a car i no longer have, a set of canadian made panels, and they are quite thick and of good quality.

Re: 1972 Ford Gran Torino

I bought one of the $99 jobs off of ebay last summer. It was the lower piece only and I think dearborn only had a whole panel for way more. It was a little on the thin side and was not a perfect piece. It was, however, pretty close to the right shape, cheap, and workable.
