Re: GT door panel emblem
wow thats funny, I bought one of those same things yesterday,,,, but is that all it is? I bought a set of panels and they aren't here yet but 1 emblem is bad, is it just a decal? if so cool, thanks
yes, its a windsor 351 runs good, no smoke, low miles, its a 1973 motor,
comes with everything attached, including an fmx tranny which is also good, but i have a c4 in there now so not sure what i will do with that....
I really wanted a bigger motor/more power and my 302 runs good but really smokes bad, i think I will do it and install a new carb, intake to start out, Its only 350.00 for everything and its close by.
i'm just finishing up my pass side quarter replacement, that side of the car is pretty much done body wise, next is clean up the trunk and fix some rust issues there then start on the other side, I have the roof partally stripped, was a vinyl top before and i'm having some fun trying to smooth out where they attached the roof to the sail panel at the factory, i believe its leaded, its soft anyway what ever it is,, i will post some pics soon,
its about time you got that cowl done don't you think? take some pics when you're done.
take care

As far as the decal goes, I don't have my door panels here to look at, but I think the "sticker" idea is a cheap way to get around the problem.
That 351 is cheap at that cost, and FMX's are fine to drive around with, but when it croaks, fix the C-4 and use that. It's a better trans.
Yeah, I think that is lead on the body seams, mine has it too. Think of how crazy that would drive the E.P.A. and the tree huggers. Your car was not only supposed to BURN lead, it is held together by it!!!
Good to hear your bodywork is moving along, and yes, it IS about darn time I finished the cowl!!!
Later!!

Re: GT door panel emblem
351...cool. Bolt the c4 up to it if its its good shape. You said windsor right?
I was looking for a 351 to throw in mine untill I gave up on the cubic inch itch and I got my 460 slowly coming along . Im not letting go the thought of using a 351 to build up a bad 408 either though.
Let us know how it goes.

Re: GT door panel emblem
The emblems are embossed metal, so I'm not sure what that person is trying to do with the stickers...

Re: GT door panel emblem
well, most of the dealers that sell the door panels include a new one with the panel, so someone is making them,,,, somewhere.... now just to find out where.... or who,,,
