dont think they had buckets in 76 but maybe they did not 100% sure but anything out of a 72+ torino should fit as far as buckets go I have a set but they need to be sent to an upholstery shop

Re: 76 bucket seats

The last year you could get bucket seats from the factory was, I think, 1975 in the Torino Sport models. These would also be the same models with the rare and elusive floor-shifter and console. Bucket seats might have been used more frequently in Rancheros, and seats from '77-'79 LTD-II's and Cougars would work as well.

Do you have a standard bench or the split bench with armrests? If you're just looking to replace the standard bench seat, you might be happy with the split-bench; they're a heck of a lot easier to find than buckets.

Here's an interesting set on ebay: eBay Motors: 1973 1974 1975 Ford Ranchero Torino Bucket Bench Seat (item 200219068260 end time May-24-08 19:32:20 PDT)

Re: 76 bucket seats

Are you what you consider split bench? I consider split bench what they have in new crown vics and ford trucks the left and right move independently of each other but there is a middle seat there with a seatbelt and you can lay down and sleep on it hence being bench like what you posted I would call a bench seat with an armrest

Re: 76 bucket seats

A "split bench" is what you think it is- two independently adjustable seats that happen to be right against each other. The seat/seats in that link is technically a bench seat but in a bucket style. The Torino split bench seats (what I have in my Elite) each have their own armrest that folds up and are adjusted independently, but no center seat location or seatbelt.

Re: 76 bucket seats

If you are looking to install buckets you can just use the seat rails from a split bench and attach them to just about any set of bucket seats to fit into your car.

Here is a picture of what the later model Gran Torino and LTDII, Thunderbird, Cougar bucket seats looked like.
