Has anyone seen a Torino like this?

My dad has told many stories of a Torino he owned in the mid '70s, and i have yet to find one that matched his description. It was a 1970 Cobra, white with the Shaker hood scoop, 4-speed with the Hurst shifter, and (the part that throws me off) a black vinyl top. I have yet to see any 70-71 Torino Cobra with a vinyl top. The best i could figure is maybe it was dealer installed. He sold the car in central Oklahoma in the 70's. Has anyone seen a Torino like this?

Question Re: Has anyone seen a Torino like this?

Could he be confusing the Cobra Jet engine option on a formal roof Torino as the COBRA was a special trim option over the TORINO GT. I just can't see one with a vinyl roof.

He swears it was a cobra, i've seen an picture of the very back of the car, couldn't see the roof, but there is the little cobra with wheels decal.

I can see this being a dealer option no reason why someone would not order it

i have seen 70-71 fastbacks with vinyl roofs, i hope nobody here's got one... cause they are ugly! formal roof tops are ok...
