69 cyclone sheetmetal

i just bought a new oem rear quarter for my 69 gt cyclone fastback.but the panel is for a 69 montego notchback.the seller said if i splice it below the sail panel(roof)the panel is the same.2door.before i pay for it and ship it i want to be sure it will work.and i cannot find any info on it if it will work.it looks slightly diffrent around the rear quarter window

Re: 69 cyclone sheetmetal

Dude I don't think that is going to work. The tail light housing is completely different as well. Would be a great find for someone with a 68 69 Comet/Montego or Montego convertible

Re: 69 cyclone sheetmetal

yeah after i bought it i realized it was diffrent.but if i cut it below the top body line and before the taillight i can proably make it a nice repair quarter patch instead of buying the two piece patch panels that are available.oh well it will be a while before i use it so in the meanwhile i will keep looking for the proper one, and wont cut it up until i have to.

Re: 69 cyclone sheetmetal

Good Luck. Just out of curiosity what did you have to give for that panel?

Thanks
George
