i played with the contrast so you can see the wheels up action. the pic is kind of dark, and taking a picture of the picture made it even darker.

NICE!! That picture is a keeper, for sure.
What did you do to the suspension to get it to hook like that?

I weighed this on a digital scale at the track. The rules say you must cross the scales after every round of eliminations that you win, so I had to do it.

Thank you for helping out on the weight question! I would say that about 3400 lbs for a big-block midsize car isn't bad at all, what does it run at the track?

i used an old Mopar trick...SS springs. I bought new springs for my car, Torino specific ones. after 1 year they started twisting. so i added a another full leaf under the main leaf, and added 2 additional 1/2 leaves (toward the front of the leaf pack) per side. That and homemade traction bars (similiar to cal-tracs)

Ah, the ol Super Stock spring trick! Well, it really seems to work, judging by the daylight under your front wheels. So, what size are those rear slicks, and are there any other things you did (shocks, ect) to hook it so well. Obviously I'm trying to pick your brain because when I finally get mine is running I'm headed for the local strip to try her out!

26 X ?? I'm curious what size they are because it looks like you've got as big a tire as is going to fit the wheelwell.

Re: What is actual weight of a 68/69 Torino?
Thanks...now if i can only get the timeslip to go with the wheels up action life would be good. I seem to have a major bog at launch. I dump the clutch at 4,000rpm, front end lifts, car hits a dead spot...car comes down, catches itself and heads down the track. I bet i lose .5 - 1 sec of momentum when that happens. I will be trying a different carb next time i head down to the track. My old 750 was just dumping the gas into the motor, i replaced that with a street avenger 770. on the street the car feels soo much more responsive...i cant wait to run it again. i should see a mid 12 sec pass

Re: What is actual weight of a 68/69 Torino?
Very cool pic! Nice torino! Im sorry earlier for the misinformation on weight. I talked to an older guy that worked at a ford factory back in 68 and ordered a 69 cobra rormal for himself, he seemed knowledgable so I believed him when he spat out the weight....Anyway, I plan on getting mine weighed one day.
Any idea the rear wheel specs? How did you fit a 10.5 tire on the rear without rub. We're the springs relocated?
