What is actual weight of a 68/69 Torino?

Hi guys, I'm just trying to get a preview of what my '69 Sportsroof will REALLY weigh. I have seen the factory literature, but that doesn't always seem to be accurate....
Mine (when it is finally done, someday....) will have an iron-headed 460/C6 combo, mostly factory issue from there on. I am adding about 100 lbs for a 8-point roll bar, but I have lightweight fiberglass front and rear bumpers, with skeletonized brackets for them, so I might save back about 50 or 60 lbs there.
Anybody have any accurate (real scales) idea of what she'll weigh out at? 3,700? 3,800?
THANKS!!!!!!

Ive heard the fastbacks are close to 3800. With the 460 and roll bar you'll be tetering 4k. The formal roofs are said to be lighter, around 3600.

Take out the carpet dampening crap, i swear that stuff is like 6000lbs alone.

my car (69 fastback) with a 351W edelbrock heads / intake, headers, mustang 5 speed. with a 1/4 tank of gas weighed in at 3540. The only additions are through the floor subframe connectors.

Hey, thanks for shouting out your numbers! I've been hoping a few others would chime in, but apparently not too many folks bother to get an accurate weight.
I sure wish mine would weigh in at 3540, but your aluminum-headed small block & 5-speed weigh quite a bit less than my iron 460/C-6. I'm guessing there will be a good 300 pounds more nose weight on my car. Oh, well; if I really wanted to save weight I'da built a Pinto.

Re: What is actual weight of a 68/69 Torino?

i know our cars are lightyears apart. but i thought it could get you in the ballpark. I was actually surprised at how heavy my car was. I actually expected low 3000's, not mid. Now if i can just get my dragstrip times down i will be a happy camper. 13.2 @ 100 mph, pulling the front end 4" off the ground, and i have a picture to prove it.

here is a picture of the picture of my car.
i played with the contrast so you can see the wheels up action. the pic is kind of dark, and taking a picture of the picture made it even darker.

Re: What is actual weight of a 68/69 Torino?

My 68 GT fastback weighs 3640 with me in it (Im 235!!).
Its an Edelbrock aluminum headed 460/C6
with a fiberglass hood and front bumper, subframe connectors, 8 point rollbar, one seat, and no carpeting.

I weighed this on a digital scale at the track. The rules say you must cross the scales after every round of eliminations that you win, so I had to do it.
