Re: Wrecked my fender! - Dumb mistake - Anyone have a replacement?
Mdula
Call me anytime. I should be home this weekend. Please call before the weekend to let me know
when you come. I spend most of my time outside or in the shop where my cell phone does't
work most of the time.
I'm new to this forum so let me state my intentions.I am putting my efforts into the
68 fairlane fastback.I have been aquiring parts for over 2 years from ebay and with the
purchase of the 2 cars. I have owned the fastback for 20+ years and can finaly afford
to fix her up.She is an original 302/c4/8" car.I am putting a 390/4 speed in her. I have
aquired most of the parts.I'm still looking for a 9". I'm not building a race car, just
a nice muscle car.
I purchased the 68 4 door for the hood, passenger fender, grille, front bumper, a/c switches
and some dash parts. The car has a complete unmolested 289/c4/8"drivetrain.Hell, it still
has the original ford logo headlights, spare tire, and jack assy.
I recently purchased the 69 torino fasback for the big block/4 speed stuff. The car was a
basket case. The previous owner stipped the car of all the trim to do body work. I have most of
the trim.He decided to put his effort into a mustang. I have no desire to restore it.I believe
the car was originally a 351/4 speed car. There are some good body parts.
I am not needing alot of the parts on these cars.I intend to ask fair prices for any parts
that are requested. I would like to recover some of my investment.I would much rather sell
the parts to someone needing them at a forum than jack with ebay
I had already purchased a drivers fender on ebay before I bought the 2 cars.It is in good
shape. I payed too much.
Anyway, I will be starting my engine swap shortly, so I will be seeking advise from
here. There seems to be Friendly members.

What model car do you own? Looks like you and Mdula are having fun
Do you guys attend any local car shows or any swap meets? I've been
in north texas since 85 and may have seen 2 or 3 68/69's around.
other than the car shows.

Re: Wrecked my fender! - Dumb mistake - Anyone have a replacement?
I have a 68 formal roof. She isn't registered, insured yet. I am going the mustang steve route for the brakes and then rebuild the suspension. IT is an original car from Cali (got it from Fordlord) looks like 40k or 140K original miles as the stock exhaust is on it. Stock suspension etc. 460 is going to go in it and hopefully a 4spd. I had another 68 formal roof back in 88. I am gathering parts. Once it cools down more I will do a lot more work....this weekend my actually be header install, 4v intake install and GT40 head install....maybe....

Re: Wrecked my fender! - Dumb mistake - Anyone have a replacement?
gocart. Welcome to the forum! Lots of help and good folks on here. Looks like you have plenty to build up a nice fastback. I personally love the 68 / 69's. My car WAS 100% original and all there here I get it, its not a GT, just a 302/C4 car, still had ford warranty card in the glovebox and an insurance card from the original owner. Its got 9.6 compression and ARF 165 heads on it now, long tube headers, etc etc, Pretty cool. BUT I too and putting in a 460 C6, street strip. I will be calling you and grabbing that fender this weekend.
Just gathered parts for my 9", 31spline, locker etc...when I jacked up the fender. So financially, this will set me back, but...
Ive never met culcuhain, should meet, looks like our build will be similar. I usually get parts from ebay or craigslist, and I never miss the Pate swap meet at the speedway...lots of stuff here, but very little torino stuff.
I built my car to drive, you will see it in grapevine area some and south of the airport, but not at many shows unless I drive it there to look. I enterend in the Goodguy show last year, There was 1 other 68/69 formal roof and a couple of fastbacks. Not many around our area at all!!
We should all meet up for lunch once the cars are on the road!
Culcuhain, if you want to meet up at gocarts with me this weekend, I can give you the emblems and we can meet up.
