68 Torino Motor Mounts

Frustration is an under statement. Be aware of part interchange ability on the Torinos. We are running into problem after problem with 351w swap from our original 302...especially since you could not order a 351w c-6 9" set up in 1968. Even the hedders are a problem...we ordered hedders for a 351 and are trying to use them temporarily on the 302...should be the same...NOPE sure they will bolt up but they will not clear the firewall and floor pan area allowing the engine to come forward to its proper location. Yes they are Headman shorty 88650. Anyone have a set of 351 69 Torino motor mount bottoms?? We have the tops but would be willing to buy a complete used set if we can save a buck or 2.
Thanks.

Re: 68 Torino Motor Mounts

351 W came in 69 and should be the same. Headers arent going to work because 351 is 2 inches wider and taller than 302.

Re: 68 Torino Motor Mounts

hmmm that is interesting,,,, i have a 68 torino that has the original 302 in it. I have since bought a 351w and was assuming i wouldn't run into any problems such as headers, mounts, etc. any other issues in this swap i could learn from?

Re: 68 Torino Motor Mounts

My car was originally a 302 and I didn't have any problems with the mounts when i went to the 351.
Headers, yes they usually are different because of the higher deck of the 351 which is about 1.3 inches taller then a 302.
