Well gang we're moving again on the Cyclone project. I picked it up from my resto guy and brought it home yesterday. He sprayed the engine compartment and suspension for me. I spent the day working on the little stuff getting it ready for reassembly. I also picked up the wheels and tires this morning. I bought them a while back but finally went after them today. What a difference a set of wheels makes ! In addition I have a little tip for those of you who are replacing the heater core. See the pic for the outlet tubes...

Now for the tip. The original heater core had a foam pad that went around the tubes on each side of the firewall. This pad was to insulate the tubes from vibrating a hole in the tubes and also served to keep the water out of the floorboard when it rained. Needless to say the foam was toast when we replaced the core and blasted the firewall. So I used a pair of PCV valve grommets to secure the tubes. They were Help brand products off the shelf at O'Reillys. They fit snugly around the tubes and they are t he right diameter for the holes in the firewall. I put a little bead of clear silicone around them before pushing them into place just for safetys sake. It looks better than the foam and I'm sure it seals better also. Whadd'ya think ?
Slow going from here for a little while but at least it's home to work on. Dean
