Re: Gran Torino - The Movie?

Yup, that's a '72, Ivy glow with a yellow to green laser stripe, I bought a brand new one exactly like it. I'll be going to see that movie.

Re: Gran Torino - The Movie?

I just watched the trailer and it is for sure a 72 GTS. Green with yellow laser stripe. Hang on to you parts as for sure they will shoot through the roof as well as car values. .

Re: Gran Torino - The Movie?

Can I just go on record saying that my 73 coupe was painted before the movie was released? I'm gonna look like a real wanna-be poser now!

Me too, looks great. The 72 is a great looking body style. Really it's the front end that makes the car.

Re: Gran Torino - The Movie?

So I thought of something else this movie may do, assuming it does well. Maybe it will relieve some of the asking of this question... "You have a Torino? Is that like Starsky and Hutch?" Now it will be "You have a Torino? Is that like Starsky and Hutch, or Clint Eastwood's movie?" Luckily I have a 70, so I still have to answer "no" and hear the dissapointed "oh..."

Re: Gran Torino - The Movie?

I am going to get that movie poster, and find a "Fear is the Key" movie poster for the basement.

I really am digging that poster.

Re: Gran Torino - The Movie?

Kinda like Eleanor...it's a double edge sword.

Prices on the cars will go ballistic, but re-pro parts will become available and plentiful.
