Re: Newbie here with a 68' GT

I went to Leonard,Tx last fall, right after I got my Torino to meet Marty Burke, he has a few re-pop parts. While I was there he introduced me to the National President of the Fairlane club of America. His name is Larry Renne and he lives in Van Alstyne and he has a sweet 67 Fairlane. They invited me to an all mid-sized show they were hosting over by the Bass pro shops. I went over to see what was going on and there was about 25 cars there. I think we could get together with these guys and help strengthen the north Texas mid-sized presence at any car show or cruise night. What do you guys think? I could find his number and give him a call.

Re: Newbie here with a 68' GT

I think thats a great idea ddkbeam. cahorne i would not be opposed to doing a mustang club meet either (as much as we rag on the stangs , all fords are cool) But a mid-size club would be more up our alley. I'd say give him a call, we can join a torino / fairlane alliance and meet up. Now that my car is so fun to drive im looking for places to drive her!

GregP doesnt visit here near as much as on torinocobra.com. He has 1 yellow 70 (or 71..cant remember) stroked 460 race car. Gorgeous car, got to look at it, damn fast too I hear.

Thread has been hijacked huh!

(I-35 & Corp) My car is still coming back together and my son's is in the process of getting a V8 swap completed but we should both be back on the road by the end of May.

One of the nicest Torino's I have seen is also here in Denton. He used to visit this board quite a bit (GregP) search his user name and I am sure you will find some pics of his car.

Good Luck on the build.
Hey thanks cahorne I appreciate it. Very cool to see all these North Texas guys on here. I think a club would be a great idea. Hey dont get me wrong I love Mustangs as well!

Its cool that the thread's been highjacked, Im just glad to be in the mix somewhere.

All our Torino brothers and sisters are welcome, no matter what year or power plant!!! Pampa might be a bit of a haul to attend anything around our part of the woods.

In my opinion, I turly think all old cars are cool, especially fords!! I hope no one took my suggestion of a fastback/formal feud seriously.

It's all good. I wouldn't mind getting a fastback sometime to sit next to my formal roof in the garage.

Maybe for the wifey??? hmmmmm hehehe
