1968 "louver" trim piece problems

Hey guys, I need some help again. The 10 "louver" trim pieces that are behind the side windows have been something that took me a long time to find for my 68' gt fastback.. When I did finnally get a set, they did not fit. They are a set of 10 louvers, and my car is a 68, so I figured they should work. The problem is that the ones I bought slide onto pins to mount, whereas the ones I need should have pins on them like a normal emblem would, and push into holes on my car. There are 10 holes per side on my car. Is there two different types for 1968, or is something else just wrong. I included a link to some pictures here: torino pictures by myblue68torino - Photobucket.

Thanks,
Jesse

The originals slid on to pins. The factory manual said if the pins broke, to screw in a sheet metal screw in the pin's place. Some would modify their hash mark trim to mount with push in pins, as many emblems now do these days. Looks like that's what was done to your '68.

Thanks mrhp, but there are a couple holes in that theroy on my car. The car has not had bodywork where the holes are, and still has the original paint on it, the paint is actually on the inside of the holes. Also, the holes on the car are not alligned with the places where the pins lock on the trim pieces, the difference is around 1 inch on the spacing(i tried to show it in the picture where i held up one of the pieces, but it didnt come out good).

I stand corrected (In my defense, I've only owned '69s) . Looks like these are what you need:
