Re: Z-Bar Question

I think you need a shorter one due to the width of the cleveland being wider than the 302...

I am not fully sure... Luck to ya!

Re: Z-Bar Question

Not sure either, FE is probably on to something. I suspect you have the 2-piece one.? you might be able to shorten it. I ended up making the block side piece by heating appropriate sized tubing, then squashing it with a vise/hammer until it fits into the other side. I am pretty sure I had to poke a hole for the clinching bolt to go through. Then welded a piece of 1/4" or 5/16" strip to that at a similar (read guessed) angle. poked another hole and used a rod end and threaded a piece of drill rod, used a jam nut for the linkage. looks better than it sounds.

rod ends are your friend, they make things alot easier

when the kids go down i'll try to post a pic.

Re: Z-Bar Question

It's a one piece for a 302. Time to go measure my 302 and 351C blocks... might have to do some cutting...

Re: Z-Bar Question

i know this is gonna suck but your best bet maybe to set motor and trans in bolt up headers then measure and fit linkage. you probably can modify that one piece. again rod ends are your friend.

Re: Z-Bar Question

Hey corn hauler, how did you put the rod ends on the linkages?

Currently the car is a 302 C4, I have the pedals and the zbar and linkage, bellhousing, flywheel, 3spd trans, clutch fork, so all I am missing is a new pressureplate, clutch disc, Throughout bearing and pilot bushing and the swap gets done. Then in about 1 yr my 351c will go in... with a Toploader. Or that new strong 5spd I have seen...
