Anyone else got a powerstroke?
I want to change the down pipe off of the turbo.
Maybe one of those plug in computer programs also.

Mike

I have an 01 F250 4x4 crew cab auto trans
I have the Superchips tuner and it works really well.

My only other mod though is a K&N filter.

Thanks Tim
I just installed a K/N filter.
The down pipe off of the turbo is suppose to be holding back about 10-15 hp. and 20 ft.lbs. of torque. That's according to the local turbo expert. Of course he want's to sell me the down pipe.
Can you really tell a difference with the plug in tuner?
Mines a 97 2wd. extended cab long bed. Auto also.

word of advice guys, watch out for those k/n filters, esp the replacement filters, alot of these filters don't fit the air box properly, causing unfiltered air to enter the engine.the old k/n filterscan cave in on the ends, these dont have a screen, the new k/n has a screen that fits in a groove/lip on top of the filter, which wont let it cave in,also fits the box alot better,chips/programers,all they do is add more fuel and have a different timing/dwell,(inj on time)add more fuel, make more boost, make more hspwr/torque,all that with stock exhaust,bad....!!anything over a 50hp increase should have some exhaust, also depends on how u drive also, dont forget the trans, all that hp/torque will play hell with that stockshifting trans, shift kit it,transgo makes a kick ass shift kit, last but not least maint, maint, maintenance, keep those fluids and filters changed.

After changing a few transmissions at work I can see where the pipe would cost some performance. The pipe is as flat as hell coming from the turbo down to the first converter. There’s no room between the trans and the firewall, floorboards, so a performance pipe might be a bitch to install, the stock pipe would be hard to remove without un-bolting some mounts, it’s real tight in there.
I got the pleasure of keeping 9 trucks running all 7.3 Power Strokes except for the new one witch is a 6.0.

Let me know if you have any drivability problems cause I’ve seen a lot of them.

Cam sensors
High-pressure oil pumps
Injectors
Injector seals. That was a good one; truck went through 12 quarts of oil in 25 miles, no leaks and no smoke. I went crazy trying to find out where it was going. After pulling most of my hair out I pulled the fuel filter cap off and found the oil. The o-rings on some of the injectors were bad and the high-pressure oil that fires the injectors was bleeding into the fuel side of the system. The oil was in the fuel tank!!!
Glow plug relays
Head light switches like you read about.
Water pumps

I have run my Superchips Supertuner 60 hp/115 tq for over a year and a half. I have had zero probs. The engine makes alot more low end power and better power overall. The trans shifts better also account slight increrase in line pressure.

When I get home from work tomorrow I will check my K&N.

Ive been told the factory muffler is very restrictive by other PSD owners. Im thinking of removing all together. If it is to loud then I will look for a high flow muffler.

thanx for the link Tbolt

Im trying to find what the stock exhaust pipe size is exactly. I know the down pipe on the year I have is 3 inch but I cant recall the exhaust size after the down pipe. Is it 3 or 3.5? anyone?

I think the downpipe that Banks makes is two piece. Suppose to be easier to install.
The new K/N filter I installed fits like a glove in the stock airbox.
Other than the heater/blower motor going out two weeks ago, it's just been oil and filters since new. Of course I only have 47K on mine.
