73 351 and 85 351 questions?

i have a 85 econoline 351w the motor is dead r.i.p
i found and am in process of pulling a 73 351w out of a car
after looking at the oil pans i noticed that i'll need to use the oil pan off of the econoline, i have taken thought
and have guessed that i'll all so have to change either
the oil pump sump or both oil pump amd sump right?

you will need the Van/Truck oil pan and pickup

I had to convert to the rear sump pan on my 460 in Queenie's 55 Effie ...

It required a totally different pump and pick up on the 460 since the direction the pickup tube has to come out of the pump is different.

I needed: ... pump ... pan ... pickup tube ... dipstick assembly ... to make the conversion. I assume the 351W will be similarly designed.

If you have both complete motors you will have most everything you need I would think. Obviously, a new pump would be in order [img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]

the engine swap has gone quite well , had too look for
parts off of older econolines , soon very soon the beast will be back on the road , my van is my lifeline 85 econoline van was 4v ho but now 2v , allways remember
kid's own Chevys but when we all grow up we buy FORD'S
FIRST ON RACE DAY!!!!!!!!
