\'77-\'79 460 Swap Motor Mount Plates

Here's an e-bay piece, flat plates that adapt 351M/400 mounts to a 460.

Is it that simple, or do you have to buy the $100 L & L or TD isolators? I haven't looked at the 351M mounts close enough to know.

I've never seen anything that simple & I've done a few of these swaps. Doesn't mean it won't work but it seems pricy for a piece of metal with a few holes in it

\'77-\'79 460 Swap Motor Mount Plates

If my memory serves me right...(it's a hit a miss sometimes), my 79 bronco had a 390 motor mount on one side and a 302 motor mount on the other side. My Bronco originally had a 351M until is was replaced with the 460. I later upgraded to the L & L's, but I have since heard that the M series and BBF's are the same motor mounts. I have not compared the two side by side though.

I certainly wouldn't pay that much for it, but if it would work, I can fabricate it easily.

A set of slightly modified 390 mounts are all that is needed to swap a 460 for a 351M/400. I did this a couple years ago on a 79 F250 fulltime 4WD.

We used a pair of slightly modded 360 mounts (same as the 390) when I put the 460 in my 79 F350 that had a 400 in it. The swap was really pretty easy.

Does anybody know where i can get the L&L motor mounts. I looked online for a web site but could not find one. Im looking into swaping in a 460 in my 77 F150.
