Oil Drain over Frame Cross-member

My trucks oil drain (car motor transplant) dumps onto the frame cross-member (79 F150 2WD). Does anybody have a good solution for this? It makes the oil change a challenge at best.

I've had this problem a LOT. Make sure your current drain is seales well. Get an old lug nut & a new drain plug, both 1/2"X 20. Drill a 1/2" hole in the front of the pan & either weld or braze the nut over the hole...

Good idea...I've got two of those pans laying on the shop floor right now due to my attempts to find a motor from one of the 'stangs to rebuild for the truck. I'll modify one of those.

Have you ever used one of those quick drain connectors? I'm dubious about hanging anything off the oil pan containing my motor's life-blood, but it seems like a good idea in theory.

Never used one, that doesn't mean it's not a good idea. I did plumb in a quick disconnect to the wifes 460 '66 F-100 but it looked stupid & was promptly removed.
