300 inline in a van

Im taking the 351w out of my half ton van. I have a 300 six, and Im wondering if they are stong enough to move a van and a boat. The six is out of a 80 F100, and has a fresh rebuild.Thank you.

You would be surprised at how strong a stock 300 inline can be! My father had an 82 or 83 (can't remember right now) pick-up, and we would have that truck so loaded with firewood in the back that the bumper would be hitting the ground with any bump!! And she just kept chugging along with no problems, almost like she wanted more!!!! I was sad to see that truck go, but body rot on the truck made my Dad decide to get rid of her.

Thats sort of what Ive been hearing. My only experience with them was the 240 in my 69 Ford pick up, It worked well enough, and a 300 is a stroked 240.

I've always been a V-8 kind of guy, but I remember how strong and reliable that 300 was, that I was serioulsy considering dropping one into my Bronco when the 302 ate itself up. But I got a good deal on a 302, so I went that route instead. But they are reliable and strong. I give them plenty of respect.

I had the 240 and 300 in different Vans, some of which I worked out of. You will have no problem pulling whatever you want. Very good engines
